This bundle includes three lesson plans with resources to be used with the cross-curricular rainforest theme. Art, Drama and Music are all covered in this bundle. All individual lesson plans can be found on their own in my shop however purchasing the entire bundle is cheaper and more beneficial in terms of its fluidity.
Resources for a class display, ideal for transition day activities.
Each child writes their name on the crayon and draws their picture in the circle. They then colour in the crayon. All are then laminated, lined up on 3/4 rows and placed together as though they were in a box. They can also be curved and stapled down to give a 3D effect. Add a section at the bottom to make the crayon box (this can be flat but ideally would be 3D).
Print the ‘Crayon Display Text’ (you can choose either the outlined version or filled). Ensure it is printed in A3 and add to your box.
Year 3. This resource includes the lesson plan and the relevant accompanying worksheet. It provides the children with the opportunity to “explore a variety of materials, tools and techniques, experimenting with colour, design, texture, form, and function” (DfE, 2014). They have the opportunity explore an artist who paints with the Rainforest as inspiration linking directly with the theme. Using their sketchbooks to develop their ideas and create a final piece is appropriate for KS2 children and contributes to their Art subject objectives (DfE, 2013). The specific activities and resources provide opportunities for the children to develop their skills, thought processes and evaluation abilities, which are valued across the curriculum.
This resource is designed to be used alongside the cross-curricular links to both Music and Drama also through the Rainforest theme. Having a theme such as the Rainforest can give children a broad concept to work with so that they have the opportunity to explore the theme in a way that suits their learning style.
To get the most from this lesson plan you will need to create the PowerPoint listed in the resources.
This resource includes a Pop Art presentation, a full lesson plan with timings and a research template for the activity. It has not been designed for any specific year group and can be adapted to suit any year group as necessary.
The lesson covers looking at Pop Art as a style, researching Andy Warhol, and the children creating a background in the style of Pop Art.
I hope you find this resource useful and I would greatly appreciate a review.
